This wetland has an area of <strong>1,300.00 hectares<\/strong> and belong to the estuary of the Iber\u00e1 eco-region.<\/p>\n<p>The region has been inhabited by indigenous communities since the ninth century. The first settlers named the place \u201cI-Ber\u00e1,\u201d which in the Guaran\u00ed language means \u201cShining Waters.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Puerto Valle is in the Northwest end of the Iber\u00e1 National Park.
