It&#8217;s <strong>Argentina&#8217;s longest river, the Paran\u00e1<\/strong>, and it originated 3 or 4 million years ago. Originally, its watercourse crossed the Mesopotamia region to join the Uruguay River; then it was displaced to the west and very slowly took the river bed that it has today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As South America&#8217;s second longest, it&#8217;s location goes beyond borders. The Paran\u00e1 river runs though Argentina, Paraguay and Brazil. In fact, it tops Argentina&#8217;s longest rivers list:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Paran\u00e1 River<\/strong>&#8216;s length: 3032 miles (4880 km). It flows from Brazil, through Paraguay, and into Argentina, where it forms the eastern border with Paraguay and runs through the provinces of Misiones, Corrientes, and Entre R\u00edos before joining the R\u00edo de la Plata.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Pilcomayo River<\/strong>&#8216;s length: 1508 miles (2426 km). This makes it the second longest in Argentina.  The Pilcomayo River originates in  Bolivia and flows southeast, forming the border between Argentina and Paraguay, passing through the provinces of Formosa and Chaco.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Uruguay River<\/strong>&#8216;s length: 1142 miles (1838 km). The Uruguay River forms the border between Argentina and Brazil, and then between Argentina and Uruguay, running through the provinces of Misiones, Corrientes, and Entre R\u00edos before joining the Paran\u00e1 River in the R\u00edo de la Plata.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Desaguadero River<\/strong>&#8216;s length<strong>:<\/strong> 930 miles (1498 km). The Desaguadero River flows through the provinces of La Rioja, San Juan, Mendoza, San Luis, and La Pampa, connecting a series of rivers and salt lakes in the arid western part of Argentina.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Colorado River<\/strong>&#8216;s lenght: 692 miles (1114 km). Also, it mobilizes a colossal water flow that takes the southern, eastern and southeastern directions through Brazil, Paraguay.
